This book is a little different from most self-help books that I have read, This book leans towards the word of God to help control negativity, I am a Christian and this book gave my a refresher course of some of the Scriptures from God that can uplift my spirit and be more positive.
This book is just what I needed to read. It is concise and very clear in how you can change the way you think about yourself and others. Through examples given in the book you will find yourself saying... I say that or I have thought that.
I highly recommend this book if you want to stop thinking negatively about yourself
I love this simple to read book. I used for a morning devotion & reminder of my worth during a down time. I highly recommend if you need something to spur your attitude & thinking toward a positive slant. Thin book .....written so you can pick up & read anytime or scan for positive words of the day. I keep it by my chair for a quick reminder of how I need to change my self talk & go more positive about myself. Biblical .
We all go through difficult times in our lives, and what can make matters worse is when we sometimes feel as if God has abandoned us or that our situation is beyond His help. Hogwash! This book was an excellent source of inspiration. I read it in one sitting and I'm going to go through it several more times to highlight the life-giving words and verses that the author uses to illustrate how we can transform our lives by transforming our self-talk.
It's an easy read and the author uses examples of her own personal struggles to show the reader practical applications of spirit-filled self-talk. While positive affirmations do work, as believers we should have access to those spirit-filled verses in which God tells us the good things He has in store for us.
In short, if you need both a quick pick-me-up as well as a powerful primer for transforming your mind and your life, this book is a great place to start.
I love this book. Reading this kind of book in correlation with the bible stirs up the spirit of God inside me. It helps me to understand and reassure me that God has anointed me to do great things. All I have to do is keep my focus on him. As I look at certain situations that have occurred in my life. I can realize that it was God that brought me through every last one of them .So when I'm faced with any challenge. I Stop and go to God and say God I know you have a better life for me then this and you have never let me down and this time is no different. God word says if you have the faith of a mustard seed that there shall be nothing impossible unto you. If you ever seen the size of a mustard seed you would know it's not very big. It you would just take that small step of faith and and nurture it with Meditation of God's word you will find the the stronger your faith will become. It will take time but the more time you strengthening your relationship with God he will make you successful in every area of your life.
Words are so powerful. It can either help us or it can hurt us. We need to be careful on how we choose our words. There are powers in words that you are speaking. Its have the power of life and death are in your tongue. You will allow to fall in the trap to speak negatively about yourself if you are not mindful. In the book of Proverbs the 18th Chapter and the 21st verse speaks to us “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” When you are speaking negative words into your own life, you are actually speaking death into your life. You are a lethal weapon to the devil, armed & dangerous because life and death are in the power of your tongue. The reason why some of us are speaking death into our own life because of the mindset. We are busy allowing poison corrupts our mind. When toxic takes control of your mind you will always have negative thoughts. Your negative words can cause serious damages to you. It can disrupt your sleep. It can ruin your appetite. It can interrupt your ability to experience happiness and satisfaction with life. Having a negative mindset will put you in a circle of deterioration.So use your tongue wisely and speak life. You need to start speaking life. God wants you to experience that joy of living life. This book is definitely perfect for Christian Books Club and Bible Study. I am looking forward to read more books by Lynn R. Davis
